Rosebuds OFSTED report

Meet the team

We have a dedicated and caring team at Rosebuds, here are just some of them

Wendy

Wendy Harrison, manager

The girls and I are all dedicated and make the nursery into a friendly family like environment giving much love and support to each other. I first started working at the nursery as manger in 1993. I was then lucky enough to purchase the nursery in February 2006. I am a mother of two young children and I live in the village of Gnosall and have found it a friendly beautiful village. As the manager I spend lots of time in both the baby and big room taking part in the many fun activities. The nursery operates an open door policy and my door is always open to have a chat.

I am very proud of the nursery, my staff and the excellent standards of child care we produce. Our nursery is modern, lively and provides a positive and safe environment. I am a strong believer in children having new experiences in and out of the nursery. This includes many different adventures on the nursery mini bus.

I have now been at the nursery for over ten years and have seen many children grow and develop. I am Deputy Manager of the nursery and also blue group Co-ordinator. This means I am the children’s key person before they go to school; we have many links with all local schools and will liaise with your consent with their teachers

Gemma

Hi, my name is Miss Gemma and I have worked at Rosebuds since 1999 and I am the Senior Nursery Nurse and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and also the Baby Room Keyworker. I would say I am an energetic and fun loving person. I am a big lover of messy play and enjoy introducing the children to many new textures, through wide range of activities.

Donna

Donna

Hello my name is Miss Donna and I am the key person for all the babies in our baby room. I have worked at Rosebuds for over 10 years and would describe myself as a caring, gentle, calm person with lots of nurturing qualities. I love to care for all our babies individually and will discuss with you all those aspects of your babies routine at home and all those wonderful things that make them special. I enjoy singing and playing musical rhymes/games with our babies as I feel it can incite them as well as soothe them.

Debbie

Debbie

I have worked at Rosebuds day Nursery for 10 years, and I am the key person in the Red group and I am a mother of 2 young children. I understand the importance of sharing all the information on your child’s day with you, and the information that you give us is crucial. In giving you piece of mind that your child is cared for in every way.

Sally

Sally

Hello my name is Miss Sally and I have worked with children of all the ages at Rosebuds since 2000. I am a bubbly down to earth mum of one. I am a big fan of I.T and love to encourage the children to use their computer. We have a large and varied range of C.D ROMs so our children can, with guidance or independently experiment in all areas of learning to help them learn and develop their skills, using the mouse and the lower case keyboard; I enjoy watching their face when they achieve their goals.

I have worked at Rosebuds now since 2003 and am a key person in the Yellow Group. There are many different aspects of child care I enjoy; I am a very enthusiastic and cheerful person. I strive to build up relationships with the children in my care. I really enjoy introducing our children to cooking; we make very basic simple healthy treats.

Becky

Becky

I have been at the nursery for three years now and enjoy all aspects of child care. I play in both the baby and big room, so know all the children well. I enjoy hearing all the stories the big room children have to tell and exploring the toys with the babies, and of course the cuddles I get. I started at the nursery as a student as most of the other nursery nurses did and never wanted to leave!

I find the nursery team more like a family than a work place and the training and encouragement they all gave me whilst I was a student helped me to grow in confidence and qualify as a Nursery Nurse. Its very evident that all the nursery team love children and wouldn’t want to do anything else anywhere else.

Zoe

Zoe

I have been at the nursery for three years now as a student and as a full time nursery nurse. I work with all the age groups in the nursery to support the key people in their planned activities, messy play is my favorite thing and we do this on a regular basis.

I'm quite a shy person by nature so the support from the staff when I first started really helped to boost my confidence, it's a very friendly place to work!

I have been working at the nursery for over a year now and I am the nursery cook, I hold a food hygiene certificate among others. I am dedicated to planning and providing home cooked healthy and notorious meals; I make their fresh fruit platter up for the children’s morning snack, cook them lunch and puddings and prepare their afternoon tea. I find many different ways to ensure the children have their 5 a day! You won’t believe how many vegetables there are in my pasta bolognaise.

In the early mornings and afternoons I am also the mini bus driver for the before and after school care, picking up from Haughton and Ranton with one of the other nursery staff. I enjoy hearing about what the children have been up to at school. A walking bus is also provided from Gnosall School.
