Education

We provide your child with as much environmental stimulation as possible within a loving and comfortable framework. In order to achieve this the Nursery Nurses plan a programme of activities based around a topical theme.

Care is taken to ensure that the activities are within the ability of the baby or child and are varied and promote all areas of development.

All children follow the early years foundation stage which is split into six area's of learning as follows;

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
  • Physical development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Creative development.

Your child will follow the foundation stage to the end of their reception year at school.

If you would like any more information on the Early Years Foundation Stage please feel free to ask.

Typical Activities

A Typical activity in the babyroom would include body painting where the children get to explore mark making and textures, experience a varierty of movement such as walking and rolling in paint.

There are many different activities in the big room depending on the age and ability of the child. One example activity is hiden numbers and shapes in a variety of textures and materials. The children are soon telling you which numbers and shapes they have found!

Computers

Children follow the ‘jolly phonics’ scheme and they will have regular access to the use of their own dedicated computer which has extensive software for all ages.
